Unlike a PC that allows any software to be loaded, the MBB300C runs only N2KView(R) software making it extremely stable and dedicated to monitoring and controlling your vessel.The MBB300C is ruggedized for marine use and includes a solid state disk drive to withstand the pounding associated with waves. And since the MBB300C dissipates less than 10 watts, there is no need for internal cooling fans that are noisy and wear out causing electronics to overheat and fail.The MBB300C connects to a monitor through a VGA connector or an HDMI connector while the associated touch screen connects through a USB or serial port. Alternatives to controlling the N2KView(R) software through a touch screen include keyboards, mice, or track balls connected through USB. VDR100 - Vessel Data Recorder Maretron's Vessel Data Recorder (VDR100) is used to record messages transmitted from every product interconnected on the vessel's NMEA 2000(R) network. Each message is stored using solid-state memory technology with simple data retrieval via a removable USB flash drive (purchased separately). Depending on the chosen USB flash drive memory size, a year or more of data can be stored. And you never have to worry about losing the most recent data because the VDR100 uses a circular buffer where the oldest data is overwritten only after the entire memory is filled. Recorded vessel data can be used in many ways including performance analysis, vessel tracking, preventative maintenance, network diagnostics, warranty incident, and accident investigation, all in an effort to reduce operating cost and improve safety. As an example of how the recorded data might be used, consider an NMEA 2000(R) fuel flow monitor plugged into the network, which will provide a complete record of how much fuel was used and how fast it was used. With a GPS antenna/receiver plugged into the NMEA 2000(R) network, you will have a complete record of where the vessel has been including its speed and course over ground. Analyzing and graphing recorded data is done using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft(R) Excel(R). Simply remove the USB flash drive and plug it into a PC or Mac and run Maretron's free extraction software (N2KExtractorTM). Choose any or all of the recorded data including the associated dates and times and the program will create a comma delimited file (.csv) that can be read into a spreadsheet for graphing or any other type of data analysis. Submersible Pressure Transducer 0-3 PSIMaretron’s submersible pressure transducers indicate tank levels and can be installed directly in the tank. Please follow these instructions to mount and connect a submersible pressure transducer to an NMEA 2000® network via a Maretron FPM100 Fluid Pressure Monitor. Maretron recommends one of two methods for mounting a submersible pressure transducer in a tank: 1) without a restraining tube, and 2) with a restraining tube.The submersible pressure transducers are designed for a tank with a 5-hole SAE J1810 fitting at the top. Install the mounting plate with cord grip onto the transducer cable, with the rounded hex section of the cord grip facing away from the transducer.Lower the pressure transducer into the tank such that the transducer lies at the lowest point of the tank and tighten the cord grip to secure the cable. On a tank with a flat bottom, the transducer may slide from side to side with the motion of the vessel but will not rotate due to the stiffness of the cable. It is also possible to mount the pressure transducer inside a restraining or focus tube (sold separately, Maretron part number TFT-5H).Pressure Transducer MountingConnect the two wires of the pressure transducer to a free pressure monitoring channel.
